Who attends AIEC?

The conference is the significant opportunity each year for international education practitioners, teaching staff, researchers, policymakers and other stakeholders to learn about major industry trends and development and network with Australian and international colleagues.

The conference attracts approximately 1,700 attendees from 500+ organisations, including 230+ speakers, 60+ exhibitors from 40+ countries. Approximately 20% of attendees come from overseas, and about 50% of Australian attendees come from New South Wales and Victoria.

The conference attracts experts from all education sectors, including English language, schools, higher education and vocational education and training, and government representatives, NGO staff and private providers.

Attendees have a range of interests, which are addressed through the different key interest areas, a.k.a. conference tracks, showcased in the program.

Approximately 70% of attendees have more than five years of experience working in international education, and approximately 10% have less than three years. Each year, about 40% of delegates attend the conference for the first time.

The exhibition typically includes 70 organisations.
