Why attend?

AIEC provides a unique convergence of networking, learning and fun into a single package.

Here are the top 10 reasons why you should attend AIEC.

Meet influencers in international education

AIEC attracts experts in international education, policymakers from local, state and federal governments and representatives from all major educational institutions and peak bodies. It also attracts experts from other industries, who provide valuable outsider insights and expert commentary.

Expand your network and make meaningful connections

At AIEC, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with people who share the same interests as you.

Social functions, topic-driven Braindates, one-on-one or group appointments, interactive sessions and roundtables … there are so many opportunities to meet new people or reconnect with old acquaintances that you’ll be spoilt for choice!

We also organise a pre-conference workshop 'Intled 101'. This session is designed for newcomers to the sector, but is also a great opportunity for first-time attendees to meet other attendees before the conference.

Get perspective

Sometimes the only way to get fresh ideas and move forward is by stepping back to see the big picture.

AIEC will give you the perspective you need: hear inspiring keynotes and speakers, participate in knowledge exchange sessions, gather different viewpoints from your peers, learn something new, and maybe even discover a new approach to an issue you’ve been wrestling with for a while.

Learn and grow

Increase your knowledge by attending sessions that present or discuss best practices, case studies, industry insights, market intelligence, innovative approaches to common challenges and the latest international education trends.

The Program Committee does all the hard work for you by curating a program specifically designed to meet your professional development needs. The committee prioritises the topics, selects the best proposals and finds subject matter experts to present the latest information, speak on panels and facilitate discussions.

Access AIEC on demand after the event

Selected sessions are be available after the event concludes, so you can catch up if you miss a session or you want to watch it again.

Share and collaborate

Knowledge-sharing is one of the most effective practices among high-performing people. There’s nothing more exciting than meeting up with like-minded people to bond over common issues and work collaboratively to better approach a problem.

At AIEC, more than 75% of attendees have more than five years of international education experience, and there is a demonstrated ongoing practice of peer learning through interactive session formats. These collaborative forums allow you to share your personal and professional experiences, troubleshoot a particular problem you might be facing and jump-start long-lasting collaborative relationships.

Invest in your career

Attending AIEC can be a significant investment of time and money, but it is a conscious and responsible decision to invest in your career and in your professional development. By attending and/or speaking at AIEC, you’ll earn points towards the IEAA fellowship program, which recognises your professional achievements.

Discover the latest products and services

Each year, more exhibitors choose to take part in the AIEC exhibition hall. They want to show off their latest products, services and newly published research and tools. They also want to hear from you and understand your needs and how they can help you achieve your goals.

Sharpen your tools

Sometimes, we’re so busy 'hacking away' at our work that we don’t realise we’re working with a dull axe. As Stephen Covey said, we need to 'sharpen the saw' so we can work 'smarter' not harder. At AIEC, you’ll have the opportunity to take a moment to sharpen your tools by gaining new tips and tricks that help you become much more effective at work.

Be inspired

It’s not all work and no play. In addition to a heavily packed agenda of sessions, workshops and business networking sessions, the program is fun, energising and full of unique and inspiring experiences.

At AIEC, you’ll meet up with people who 'get you'. You will get the positive reinforcement and energy you need to keep focused and engaged not just over the four days of the conference, but for the rest of the year.
