New to AIEC? This session is for you!

Whether it is your first AIEC conference, or you have not attended for a couple of years, or perhaps you are just curious – all are welcome at this orientation workshop.

This special session will provide you with tips and tricks on how to navigate AIEC so that you get the most out of the conference offerings. It will cover hot topics in this year’s program, how to use the conference app and even where to get the best coffee! There will also be an opportunity to network with other eager participants, make some conference buddies and – who knows – you might just develop meaningful professional connections for the rest of your career.  

This orientation will leave you feeling prepared, motivated and confident to make the most of the conference experience.

Learning objectives

Takeaways from this orientation will include:

  • having a better understanding of the various sessions, workshops and activities offered throughout AIEC
  • connecting with peers and colleagues from the international education community and building professional networks
  • identifying opportunities for personal learning development relevant to your interests and goals for the conference
  • learning how to navigate your way through the conference app, wayfinding at MCEC and much more.

Audience

This session is designed for:

  • ‘first timers’ – those attending their first AIEC
  • ‘newcomers’ – those who have started working in international education within the past 18 months
  • ‘returning’ – those who have attended AIEC a long time ago and would like an update to refresh and make new connections.

Elizabeth Lee-Finkelstein (Facilitator)

Professional Learning and Programs Coordinator, IEAA

Elizabeth Lee-Finkelstein brings more than 15 years of experience in higher education to her role at IEAA, where she supports the administration of the flagship IEAA Fellowship program and professional learning modules. Additionally, she serves as the primary contact for the Erasmus+ program in Australia.

With a passion for empowering individuals to thrive in the world of work, Elizabeth held diverse roles at institutions such as the University of Auckland, Coder Academy and RMIT Online before joining IEAA. Originally from Indonesia, Elizabeth has lived and studied in four countries, culminating in her migration to Australia in 2019.
