Most sessions and presentations at AIEC are relevant to delegates working in the following sectors.

Proposals specifically targeted at the schools, VET and English language sectors are particularly welcomed.

English language (ELT)

This KIA focuses on sessions relating to the provision of intensive English language trainingfor internationalstudents as well as to English language testing.

Topics under this KIA typically cover:

English language competence and testing, ELICOS and English Bridging Course program quality and standards (including teaching, delivery, management and promotion), ELICOS student visas, government policies affecting learning and teaching of English as a Second Language (ESL).

Higher Education (HE)

This KIA is for sessions that have a sole or dedicated focus on the Higher Education sector and are not relevant to other education sectors.

Topics under this KIA typically cover:

Higher education policy challenges and initiatives; higher education specific case studies; university admission issues; etc.

Schools (SCH)

This KIA focuses on topics that are specific to the schools sector (Prep to Year 12). Topics will include areas from other key interest areas, but with a specific focus on school issues in the context of international education.

Topics under this KIA typically cover:

Support for international students in schools; management and support for under 18s; National Code; transition to further study; student mobility at the school level, global citizenship, internationalisation of the curriculum.

Vocational education and training (VET)

This KIA focuses on sessions that are specific to the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

Topics under this KIA typically cover:

Areas from other key interest areas, but with a specific focus on VET issues in the context of international education.
